What Is Tablet Weaving?

Threads pass through these holes, and the cards are rotated in a specific sequence to weave the threads into a band. This process twists the threads, creating a dense and strong 4 ply twisted fabric that holds its shape well.


Unlike machine weaving, the twisting action of tablet weaving naturally reinforces the structure, making it ideal for functional accessories. Each turn of the cards is controlled by the weaver, so every band is unique in pattern and texture.
